COMSATS NAT Test Pattern 2026
National Aptitude Test (NAT) — conducted by NTS for all COMSATS undergraduate applicants

Test Categories by Program Group
Note: If you've taken the NAT more than once within its validity period, COMSATS uses your best score. Choose the category matching your intended program — IE, ICS, ICOM, or IA.
Special NAT & SAT alternative: Instead of the NTS-conducted NAT, you can sit COMSATS' own on-campus Special NAT, or, if you're an international or foreign-equivalent applicant, submit a qualifying SAT score. Your Entry Test percentage is calculated from whichever test you submit, using the same 50% formula weighting either way.
How the COMSATS Aggregate Is Calculated (2026)
COMSATS uses one formula for every undergraduate program, applied the same way across all seven campuses (Islamabad, Lahore, Wah, Abbottabad, Attock, Sahiwal, and Vehari).
COMSATS Aggregate Formula
Aggregate = (Matric % × 0.10) + (Intermediate % × 0.40) + (NAT/NTS % × 0.50)
Worked Example
Matric 850/1100 (77.27%), Intermediate 950/1100 (86.36%), NAT 78/100 (78%) → (77.27 × 0.10) + (86.36 × 0.40) + (78 × 0.50) = 7.73 + 34.55 + 39.00 = 81.27% aggregate
Which Entry Test Counts
Your Entry Test score can come from the standard NAT (conducted by NTS), COMSATS' own on-campus Special NAT, or SAT for international/foreign-equivalent applicants — all are accepted, and the same 50% weighting applies regardless of which one you sit.
A-Level Students
If your Matric or Intermediate marks come from an IBCC equivalence certificate, enter your equivalent percentage marks in the same fields.
BS Architecture / Design Programs
These programs follow a separate admission process rather than this standard aggregate formula — see the FAQ below for details.
How COMSATS Merit Lists Work
Once your COMSATS aggregate is calculated, it's compared against every other applicant for your chosen program and campus to build the COMSATS merit list. COMSATS doesn't release just one list — here's how the process actually plays out after NAT/NTS results are announced.
Separate Lists by Entry Test Type
COMSATS maintains separate merit lists for NAT (NTS) applicants, COMSATS Special NAT applicants, and SAT applicants — each competing within their own pool rather than one combined ranking.
Multiple Merit Lists, Not Just One
As selected candidates confirm, decline, or miss their seat-confirmation deadline, COMSATS releases further merit lists over the following weeks to offer those seats to the next-ranked applicants.
Separate Lists for Each Campus
Islamabad, Lahore, Wah, Abbottabad, Attock, Sahiwal, and Vehari each have their own seat allocations and their own merit lists. A program that's out of reach at one campus may still be open at another with a lower closing aggregate.
Where to Check Your Status
COMSATS merit lists are published through the official COMSATS admissions portal for your campus. Log in with your application details to see your status for each program you applied to.
Note: COMSATS does not officially publish a consolidated closing-merit percentage table. Any specific cutoff numbers you find online are third-party estimates from previous cycles. Use your COMSATS aggregate calculator result as a general guide, and always confirm your actual status through the official COMSATS admissions portal.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate my COMSATS aggregate?
Enter your Matric marks, Intermediate (FSc/HSSC) marks, and NAT/NTS score into the calculator above. It applies the official 10% + 40% + 50% weighting and shows your aggregate instantly, along with the breakdown of each component's contribution.
What is the COMSATS aggregate calculator formula?
Aggregate = (Matric % × 10%) + (Intermediate % × 40%) + (NAT/NTS % × 50%). This same formula applies to every undergraduate program except Architecture and Design.
Is the formula the same at every COMSATS campus?
Yes. The 10/40/50 formula is identical whether you're applying to Islamabad, Lahore, Wah, Abbottabad, Attock, Sahiwal, or Vehari — only the merit list itself is calculated separately per campus.
What's the difference between NAT, Special NAT, and NTS NAT?
NAT (National Aptitude Test) is conducted by NTS and is the standard option. COMSATS Special NAT is the university's own on-campus alternative for students who can't sit the NTS-run test. Both are scored out of 100 and count equally toward your aggregate.
Does COMSATS accept SAT scores?
Yes, SAT is accepted in place of NAT for international and foreign-equivalent applicants.
What is the NAT test pattern?
NAT has 90 MCQs to be completed in 120 minutes, scored out of 100, with no negative marking. There are four categories — NAT-IE, NAT-ICS, NAT-ICOM, and NAT-IA — depending on your intended program group.
Is there a separate aggregate calculator for MS/PhD admissions?
No — this calculator is for undergraduate admissions only. COMSATS postgraduate (MS/PhD) admissions use the GAT test, not NAT, and follow a different criteria altogether.
Does this formula apply to BS Architecture or Design programs?
No. Architecture and Design programs at COMSATS follow a separate, non-standard admission process rather than the standard 10/40/50 aggregate formula.
How many merit lists does COMSATS release?
COMSATS typically releases multiple merit lists over a few weeks per campus and program, rather than one final list, as seats are confirmed or vacated.
What if my Intermediate result hasn't been announced yet?
Tick "My Intermediate result is still awaited" in the calculator. It switches to the result-awaited rule — Matric 50% + Test 50% — and recalculates automatically once your full result is out.
