How the ECAT / UET Aggregate is Calculated (2026)
Your ECAT aggregate for UET Lahore and UET Taxila is a weighted average of three scores: Matric (SSC) at 17%, FSc/Intermediate (HSSC) at 50%, and your ECAT score at 33%. This is the current UET merit formula for 2026 admissions, and it applies the same way across UET Lahore's Engineering and Computer Science programs, including Software Engineering, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical.

Aggregate = (Matric % × 0.17) + (FSc % × 0.50) + (ECAT % × 0.33)
ECAT Total Marks
ECAT carries 400 marks across 100 MCQs — 10 from English, and the rest split evenly across your chosen subjects (Math, Physics, and Chemistry or Computer Science) — with a 100-minute time limit and no negative marking.
FSc Carries the Most Weight
Unlike MDCAT, where the test score dominates, ECAT's formula weighs FSc marks highest at 50% — consistent board performance matters as much as test-day performance.
Same Formula at UET Taxila — With One Exception
UET Taxila is a separate university but uses this same 17/50/33 formula for Engineering and BS Computer Science. If you're applying to BS Mathematics or BS Physics there instead, the formula changes to 30% Matric + 70% FSc, with no entry test component.
A-Level & Equivalence Students

How UET Merit Lists Work
Once your UET aggregate is calculated using the 17/50/33 formula, it's compared against every other applicant for your chosen program to build the UET merit list. UET Lahore and UET Taxila don't release just one list — here's how the process actually plays out after ECAT results are announced.
When the First UET Merit List Is Released
UET Lahore typically releases its first merit list a few weeks after ECAT results are announced, usually in early August, though exact dates shift slightly year to year. Your UET aggregate calculator result determines where you land on this list for each program you've applied to.
Multiple Merit Lists, Not Just One
Neither UET Lahore nor UET Taxila fill every seat from a single list. As selected candidates confirm, decline, or miss their seat-confirmation deadline, both universities release further merit lists — 2nd, 3rd, and sometimes more — over the following weeks to offer those seats to the next-ranked applicants on merit.
Separate Lists for Each Campus
UET Lahore's main campus and its affiliated campuses each release their own separate merit lists, and UET Taxila — a fully separate university — releases its own as well. A program that's out of reach on the main campus this year may still be open on an affiliated campus with a lower closing aggregate.
No Fixed Closing Aggregate
Closing merit isn't fixed from year to year — it depends on how many students apply, how competitive that year's ECAT was, and how many seats are available for your program. How does the formula work for A-Level students?
A-Level students need an equivalence certificate from IBCC to convert their grades into the Matric and FSc marks system first. Once you have your equivalence percentages, enter them directly into the Matric and FSc fields above — the 17/50/33 formula applies the same way.
